Lucy Sherwin

Lucy has over 10 years HR experience in a range of sectors, these include social care, charity, commercial training and retail. Lucy started her HR career in the competitive food retail sector, taking responsibility for recruitment, training and payroll. From there Lucy progressed into HR Advisory roles and it was here she developed an enthusiasm for employee relations through a wide range of practice based experience as well as gaining her Associate CIPD qualification. Lucy also has experience in contracts, developing and implementing policies, staff handbooks and absence management.

After re-locating to Derbyshire in 2014, Lucy took up the role of HR Manager at QUAD, Derby’s cultural hub for visual art and cinema. Lucy continues to work in this role while she starts her consultancy journey at Loates HR; this allows Lucy to keep her finger on the pulse of the everyday matters that affect HR Managers and professionals’ working in SME’s. Whether it is managing change, implementing a new process or team coaching and development, Lucy has real first-hand experience as a practising HR Manager. Lucy is responsible for the internal HR processes and delivery at QUAD; this also includes SAGE Payroll, pensions, compliance and governance.
