Matilda’s career in HR stems from a degree in Psychology and an innate passion to support and help others. Previous business experience, alongside her deep understanding of the application of psychology in the workplace, developed Matilda’s enthusiasm to be involved in creating working environments where teams feel supported to work to their full potential and creativity.
Before joining Loates, Matilda started her career as an internal HR specialist which spanned across a diverse range of sectors around the UK including a number of small family owned SMEs, a third sector charity and an e-commerce fashion organisation. With a positive move to HR consultancy, Matilda was able to utilise her internal HR experience and add this to her approachable and empathic outlook on people and performance at work.
Since joining Loates, Matilda has specialised in Employee Relations for her continually growing client base. Matilda’s clients cover a broad display of size, sector and industry, primarily across the East Midlands but some based further around the UK. Typical support for her clients ranges from disciplinaries, grievances, absence, performance, capability, settlement agreements, TUPE and redundancy.
Matilda’s wide-ranging clients and cases makes her our go to ER specialist.
Aside from this, Matilda’s generalist HR expertise also includes auditing HR processes to ensure businesses have the appropriate grounding and frameworks in place from the outset to encourage a safe, legal and supportive workplace. Matilda frequently reviews HR practices and documentation for her clients, including contracts, handbooks, policies and procedures to align these with the business demands and culture.
Matilda has thrived in helping small organisations grow to meet their business aims and is eager to become more involved in supporting our clients through periods of transformational change and strategic growth.
